As a Digital Account Executive you will be expected to support and develop opportunities to grow interactive/online advertising revenue for the Los Angeles Daily News. Cultivating relationships with clients, gaining deep insight into their business and creatively designing solutions for their marketing and advertising goals is critical to the success of this role. The Digital Account Executive is expected to generate a high volume of sales related activity including cold calling, presentations, requests for proposals, and campaign results reporting and continuously prospect to close new revenue.
Some of our interactive and online advertising products include ads in the online and mobile editions of the newspaper and ad networks, email marketing, search engine marketing, and text messaging. This role is critical to supporting the overall revenue objectives of our organization.
The ideal candidate will have strong oral, written and interpersonal skills, excellent communication and presentation skills including basic computer skills such as Microsoft office for Excel, Word and Google for email, calendars, and documents. Must have excellent closing and time managements skills and be able to work in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment.
Most importantly, we are looking for a proven track record of success in online media sales, direct experience with selling ad serving, rich media, email, online media or technology. Experience with back-end tools for inventory assessment, SEM, SEO and CPM rating is necessary and the ability to stay up-to-date with industry developments are essential for success in this role.
Some college preferred, although a high school diploma and 2-4 years of proven sales experience in Interactive platforms may be substituted for a degree. Print media experience will also be helpful. This is an outside sales position that requires a valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.
