Certified Medical Assistant (M.A.) with EMR Experience
 

Hillcroft Medical Clinic is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant who has experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR), preferably eClinicalWorks, to join our team in the Houston and Sugar Land facilities. This opportunity offers lots of variety and will work directly with the physician on a daily basis. Prior experience with an EMR is required as the physician practices using eClinicalWorks.

 

Job Responsibilities / Position Information for this position includeAs a Certified Medical Assistant, provide assistance in the medical office by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients.

In addition to the primary role, the MA may be expected to perform a range of front- and back-office duties under the direction of the physician, including: prepare treatment rooms for exams, greet and room patients, interview patients for history, measure and record vital signs, position instruments and equipment, operate equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests, give injections or treatments and perform routine lab tests, provide explanations to patients regarding treatment procedures, medication, diets and physician's instructions. Additional duties as MA include: Answer phones, schedule appointments, contact insurance companies to verify coverage, update medical records and file patient charts, perform clerical tasks, complete insurance forms, key data into computer to maintain office and patient records, keep billing records, and compute and mail monthly statements to patients.

 

Requirements:

·         Not less than 1 year experience as a Certified Medical Assistant

·         Not less than 1 year experience with Electronic Medical Records, eClinicalWorks experience strongly preferred

·         Fast, accurate data entry skills

·         Knowledge of current medical billing and coding procedures

·         Excellent verbal communication skills, bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

·         Cooperative customer-service attitude is imperative

·         Must have reliable transportation as physicians practice at our multiple locations

·         Flexible outlook and a team player approach are critical

Schedule
        Full-time Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm


Compensation:
 
        Hourly pay rate $12-$15.00/hour commensurate with experience and performance
