Currently seeking a Web Developer in Tampa, FL for Bisk Education! Bisk Education is a rapidly growing company which facilitates the promotion and online delivery of degree and certificate programs from the nation’s leading traditional universities.

Position Summary:
The Web Developer is responsible for developing moderate to complex coding constructs for our multi-site content management system (CMS). The employee will assist marketing in creating templates, doc types, media types, macros, Javascript, JQuery, CSS and implementing clear and consistent information architecture within the CMS. The employee will also create custom modules and solutions to address custom needs depending on the site or project. The employee should be comfortable working with and reviewing the work of contracted remote offsite teams as the employee will be called on to support and troubleshoot solutions produced by those teams.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Candidate would demonstrate strong analytical problem solving skills to complement a strong development skill set
• Candidate would demonstrate the ability to estimate, track and implement development tasks
• Candidate would teach subordinate developers how to best apply coding standards with the core technologies being used
• Candidate would understand the functional and technical details of the products they are responsible for maintaining
• Candidate should be able to document functional requirements when meeting with non-technical contacts
• Candidate must be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex development issues
• Candidate should be capable of evaluating the technical competence of another subordinate or peer developer
• Candidate must be able to work within a team or individually
• Candidate must be capable of learning technology quickly on his or her own
• Ideal candidate would show interests in technology in personal life as well as professional life. They should be able to communicate well with management and technical staff
• Candidate should be considered a positive professional influence to development team and department
• Candidate should understand that overtime is occasionally expected
  
  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• A minimum of 5+ years experience of web experience
• Skills:
  • Umbraco 4.7 or other comparable CMS product
  • 2.0-4.0 .NET frameworks
  • C#.Net
  • JavaScript, jQuery
  • XSLT/XML/SOAP
  • LINQ
  • Web Services
  • DHTML
  • CSS & XHTML
  • OOP/Design Patterns
  • SQL Server - TSQL
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Education Required:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in MIS or Computer Science
• Microsoft technology certification desired (MCP, MCAD, MCSD)
