Electrical Engineer – Digital Electronics

 

We are a medical device manufacturer based in Danvers, MA and we are currently looking to fill this position

 

Duties:

·         Debug existing designs to discover root cause failure during manufacturing test and system integration

·         Develop, debug and maintain board level microcontroller firmware

·         Develop, debug and maintain CPLD and FPGA code using verilog and VHDL

·         Develop and facilitate in the execution of verification test plans for boards, assemblies and test fixtures

·         Design board and sub-assembly manufacturing test fixtures, Develop test procedures and test reports, Perform failure analysis of electrical subsystems

·         Perform sustaining engineering functions on  production medical systems to ensure continued performance, manufacturability and customer satisfaction

·         Assist in medical device certification to ensure regulatory requirements are maintained.  Implement system changes as required to obtain certification

·         Presentation of results and plans at data reviews and sub-team meetings, assistance with the running of component, assembly, sub-system and system level tests

·         Perform assignments independently with instructions as to the general results expected from the

Skills/Qualifications:

·         Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering

·         Strong background in electrical testing and troubleshooting

·         5-10 years experience in an engineering environment for medical or large scale capital equipment specifying, designing, assembling, testing validating and debugging circuitry

·         Embedded programming experience using C /C++ and integrated development tools targeted at microcontroller devices

·         Demonstrable history of CPLD/FPGA implementation experience including design, simulation and verification using Verilog and VHDL.  Prefer experience with Xilinx tools and silicon.

·         Familiar with engineering CAD tools including Orcad, Modelsim, Xilinx ISE

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

·         Must be able to work with cross functional team members to solve complex problems

·         Knowledge of medical regulatory standards: IEC60601, ISO13485
