Chemical Company has an opening at the McIntosh, Alabama location for an I/E Reliability Engineer with a focus on Instrumentation. This role will provide leadership and support to the maintenance excellence reliability group for fixed process equipment and processes.
The I/E Reliability Engineer will design, specify, install, start, monitor and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation and control systems for new and existing chemical plant uses; Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation and operational requirements conform to functional specifications, codes and end-user expectations; Direct and coordinate operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of instrumentation equipment and systems in field installations; Identify, initiate, coordinate and complete maintenance process improvement opportunities; Develop Reliability-Centered maintenance processes and share with other sites; Develop expertise in predictive maintenance technologies.
This position will implement Maintenance Excellence initiatives, goals and costs to improve the overall effectiveness of the maintenance department; Utilize analytical and engineering skills to identify and reduce / eliminate repeated equipment failures; Work with Engineering on PSM implementation, i.e., work practices, design and repair standards, management of change, Layers of Protection, etc.; Perform RCFA’s to ensure long term maintenance equipment problems are appropriately investigated with solutions implemented; Assist with department budgeting and expenditure forecasting; Review major purchases and capital projects to optimize life cycle costs; Assist in tracking metrics and generating the monthly reports for area of responsibility; Provide input into capital budget to drive improved reliability; Proactively identify development opportunities to build reliability expertise both personally and within department and Provide independent quality control of in-house and outside contract services.
