We are searching for a Lean-oriented Production Supervisor with a passion for Lean manufacturing principles to plan, supervise and coordinate activities of assembly and manufacturing departments with all other departments and functions.
The ideal candidate will have: - Bachelor degree or equivalent and 5 years related experience preferred - Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizens, Kanban, 5S, etc. - Experience in MRP, Statistical Process Control and quality improvement programs - Ability to influence and motivate employees - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred - Good oral and written communication skills - Skills to effectively use personal computers including use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Establishes or adjusts work assignments to meet production schedules, using knowledge of capacities of machines and equipment; accomplishes work results; establishes priorities; monitors progress; revises schedules; resolves problems. 2. Leads or co-leads Kaizens in assigned department. 3. Initiates and implements, with Management approval, Lean measures to improve production methods and equipment performance, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department. 4. Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points. 5. Maintains safe and clean work environments by educating and directing employees on the use of all control points, equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. 6. Analyzes and resolves quality problems, excessive scrap and/or assists employees in solving quality problems and implements corrective actions. 7. Initiates and fosters plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals and to maintain a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. 8. Recommends and/or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures. Coaches, counsels and disciplines employees. 9. Monitors use and care of equipment and tools to ensure safe operation and maintenance within Company standards. Ensures operation of equipment by requesting repairs. 10. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; accomplishes results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising employee's performance and development requirements and conducts Performance Reviews to enhance productivity and efficiency. 11. Performs as a positive role model for department.
