About the Job

The Deal, an award-winning financial multi-media division of TheStreet, Inc., publishes a two-edition daily newspaper and website (pipeline.thedeal.com), online databases, and online and print newsletters geared to the financial and business community. The Deal brings you breaking news and analyses on developments in the deal spectrum: venture capital, initial public offerings, mergers & acquisitions, private equity, bankruptcies, and restructurings.

 

We have an exciting opportunity in the New York City area for a junior level/entry level Finance Reporter. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

Cultivating sources

Lead generation

Deal research

Investigative reporting

News tracking

Data inputting

 

Required Skills:

College degree in Journalism, English or Liberal Arts from an accredited institution

Recent grads welcome, but 2 years experience in business journalism or in investment banking preferred

A self-starter

Works well within a team

Can juggle daily assignments

Attention to detail

Must be organized and able to meet all deadlines
