PLC & HMI Controls Engineer

Responsibilities:

Design of control systems for multiple PLC platforms.

Designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products and systems for Company projects.

 

Operating computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to improve throughput and quality. 

 

Directing and coordinating the construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements. 

 

Inspecting completed installations and observing operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. 

 

Preparing specifications for the purpose of sales support and quoting of projects.

 

Responsible for the development, maintenance, updates, and monitoring of control system components- both hardware and software.

 

Develop, update, and maintain project schedules and provide reports and analyses on project systems performance.

 

Setup, program, modify, and maintain a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and reporting applications.

 

Manage multiple automation projects as assigned.

Travel to project site is required, teams rotated to not have you away for extended periods.

 

Requirements:

 

Bachelors Engineering Degree, BSEE Preferred but not required, and two to five years related experience.

 

Possess good interpersonal skills and an ability to lead cross-functional teams. Must be able to lead, orchestrate, and advise maintenance personnel with regard to project implementation. 

 

Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering related plans and technical procedures, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical diagrams.

 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

 

Computer skills including spreadsheet programs, word processing and Windows applications.

 

Ability to program PLC’s (including Allen Bradley) and have experience with “Wonderware, RS View” or equivalent PLC interface software.

 

Servo motion control experience a plus.
