-Responsible for assisting the bindery, inspection & shipping operations. Including assisting in the setting up and operating bindery. inspection, and shipping equipment.
-Setting up, operating, and maintaining bindery equipment of guillotine & manual cutters, laminators, & back-splitters and other equipment.
-Inspection analysis and identification of printing problems, measurement of dimensions, print quality, registration, color, reading drawings, and proper calibration and reading of measurement devices.
-Shipping requires the operation of weight and counting scales, shrink wrappers and bar code printers. Operation of a computer for producing shipping and packaging slips and freight carrier documents for incoming and outgoing freight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Follow bindery finishing production orders and job assignments. Read orders to verify quantity to be run, overrun tolerance, color sequence, and substrate.
-Follow directions for the setting of all equipment according to established company guidelines, safety, and job requirements.
-Check all products for conformity to approved drawings and accepted quality standards for parts components, registration, inks color, and dimensions.
-Good mechanical aptitude to independently solve problems and preform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
-Direct and capable of operating all equipment.
-Ensures proper cleanliness of screen prep and press areas, presses, work station, and immediate press area by removing trash, rags, and extra press sheets.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-High School Graduate or GED, a college degree in art, print, or similar field is preferred.
-One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-RIP software knowledge a plus.
-Experience on MAC and PC is desirable.
-Must have good judgment of color, design, and print quality.
-Experience and mechanical aptitude to operate equipment.
-Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
-Ability to write simple correspondence.
-Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
-Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
-Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
