JOB TITLE - Resident Service Coordinator I

HOURS PER PAY PERIOD: 48     FTE .6

WORK SCHEDULEMonday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m


The primary function of the Resident Service Coordinator (RSC) is to effectively facilitate services to assist residents. They may provide: information and referrals; plan educational programs; and coordinate volunteer opportunities. The RSC provides the resident with both educational information and supportive access to local services and resources that can assist residents in achieving their housing and service needs, goals and objectives. The RSC works in conjunction with the property manager, corporate management, and other property staff members to empower residents to age in place within their home environment and support families overcome barriers to success.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing the service management plan which includes; intake, assessment, plan of referrals and linking specific service assistance or network of services for families.
  • Identify, assess, select, develop and maintain referral partnerships with local service resource agencies that provide appropriate support and assistance to residents.
  • Develop and maintain supportive professional relationships with residents that help them enhance their quality of life, empower them, and encourage them in taking steps to achieve self-reliance.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive resource directory which is available to residents, management and staff.
  • Present the resident examples of service assistance that the RSC is able to provide community linkages such as; proactive financial assistance, health/wellness education, educational and emotional support, homemaker assistance, and legal issue education/awareness.
  • Advocates for the needs of residents on local, state and national levels.
  • Develop and arrange resident community presentations through the identification, assessment, selection and coordination arrangements for educational events, training and wellness activities
  • Complete resident file documentation utilizing American Association of Service Coordinators (AASC) AASC Online database.

 

Associates Degree is required, bachelors preferred.
Professional Service Coordinator (PSC) - Preferred

3-4 years of related experience is required with a concentration in social work, family services, psychology, human services, recreation, and customer service or education field.

Experience in community organizing and social service system. Demonstrated working knowledge of social services available for the resident population, experience in problem solving and advocacy.

Knowledge of eligibility and procedures of federal and state entitlement programs. Knowledge of legal complications and liability issues related to the provision of service coordination.

Strong self-management and organizational skills.

Strong muti-tasking abilities with the ability to manage competing deadlines, flexible and adaptable.

Strong ability to handle difficult, sensitive and confidential issues with residents and staff.

Proficient in Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
