JOB TITLE:                Accountant, Senior

DEPARTMENT:         Finance

The Senior Account is responsible for accounting functions requiring the application of basic accounting practices and policies.  Works under general direction on complex activities.  May provide functional advice or training to less experienced accountants.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Understands and applies generally accepted accounting principles.

·        Coordinates monthly close and preparation of reporting package schedules. 

·        Prepares balance sheet reconciliations.

·        Assists in financial statement preparation (accruals, budget-actual comparison, discrepancy research and resolution). 

·        Prepares other ad hoc reports and analysis. 

·        May assist in ensuring that proper disclosures are made in the monthly and annual financial statements.

·        Assists in evaluating auditor’s comments and developing action plans to resolve open issues.

·        Strengthens and maintains efficiency of the accounting function through review of processes and procedures and implementation of process improvements and improvement of information. Fixed asset accounting.

·         Lease accounting.

·        Intercompany accounting

 

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

·        Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting

·        CPA or CMA preferred

·        4 years accounting or finance experience

·        Excellent problem solving and analysis skills

·        Ability to make decisions

·        Process Thinker

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Proven organization and time management skills

·       Knowledge of financial planning and analysis, business communications, and accounting principles
