Summary:
The Video Network Specialist engineer is responsible for interfacing with customers and Business Partners to provide implementation, programming, integration and training services relating to video technologies. The Video Specialist will be responsible for video system architecture reviews, scope of work development, interfacing with internal Business units to develop and integrate a profitable practice. This individual will be responsible for providing help desk support on implementations for business partners. The position would also require training and some travel.
Essential Job Duties:
Provides onsite and remote video implementation support
Troubleshoots video related problems
Manages video practice growth and profitability
Develops best practices for onsite and remote video implementation and integration
Determines video programming requirements based on services purchased
Develops Scopes of Work for video projects
Mentors onsite and remote video implementation team
Interfaces with video assessment engineer to ensure that network is video ready
Manages and interfaces with project manager for project meetings
Identifies and recruits subcontractor resources to assist with deployments
Understanding of IT infrastructure, wireless and data networking technologies
Provides on-site and remote programming support for various video products
Provides technical support for onsite installation technicians for video products
Provides end user and system administration training on video products
Determines customer programming requirements based on services purchased
Manages time per project to adhere to budget parameters
Optimizes time and schedule to meet/exceed objectives
Assists others on the team when required
Other duties as assigned
Reporting Relationships:
Video Network Specialist directly reports to the VP, Technical Services (OUI)
Indirectly reports to Project Manager when assigned to implementations that are controlled by a Project Manager
Interfaces with sales and merchandising teams of the services group and the various business units of ScanSource.
Interfaces with Business Partners and End-User customers to determine services scope of work for various video products.
Special Job Skills and Credentials:
Associates degree or two years relevant experience
Be responsive and professional to internal and external customers
Computer skills
Experience with Radvision or Polycom video products with background in networking both LAN and WLAN.
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time.
Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for this position.
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
