
Valencia is looking for experienced, talented and creative Web/Portal/Mobile programmer/designers with the ability to design and build Web sites, Web applications and/or mobile applications in a multicultural environment.
There are (2) positions available: Both positions are on the West Campus.
Successful candidates will have some or all of the following skills: portal and/or SharePoint management, experience building user interfaces for applications and back-end databases using SQL, quality assurance testing, second tier user support, systems maintenance and backups, and Web statistics management.
General Description: Serves as a member of the Web and Portal Services team collectively responsible for development and maintenance of the college's websites, web applications and portal, including structure, standards and content. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing user-friendly and functional web pages, graphics and programming solutions for web-based projects and initiatives.
To qualify, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or a minimum of three years’ experience in a related field a strong knowledge of enterprise level Web development (required), and have experience with technical documentation, change management, Web standards and security, and system administration. Must have the ability to meet the demands of a diverse student population.
Prior experience with any of the following is required: HTTP, FTP, basic Web server management, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS and at least one programming language (examples: Coldfusion, PHP, ASP.NET, etc.). Prior experience with any of the following is preferred: SFTP, IIS, MSSQL, MySQL, ASP.NET, XML, XSLT, Coldfusion, Luminis, WordPress, Groovy, GRAILS, or Java.
