About the Job

SUMMARY

Morris Heights Health Center (MHHC) is seeking an experienced Patient Advocate to coordinate the resolution of patient relation issues and serve as a liaison between patients/families and MHHC Departments. Under the Direction of the Risk Management Team, the Patient Advocate is expected to serve as an information resource for all patients as well as the community and provide a grievance mechanism to ensure quality patient care while minimizing potential liability to the health center. This individual will personally investigate, research and  document patient complaints and develop an acceptable resolution. The patient advocate will adhere to professional standards, organization policies and procedures as well as federal, state and joint commission standards.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will have at least an Associate’s degree in Healthcare

Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Should have at least two years of experience as a Patient Advocate or Patient Services Coordinator along with excellent communication skills and the strong ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
