District Asset Protection Manager


The role of the District Asset Protection Manager is to lead Weis Markets in their Shrink Reduction, Asset Protection and Safety efforts through an in-depth understanding of the overall business, effective partnerships and by directing the organization with integrity and professionalism.


































  • Complete store visits and Asset Protection audits designed to reinforce Asset Protection policies, procedures and compliance to company standards.
  • Direct stores and recommend strategies to reduce loss and increase profitability.
  • Proactively identify district safety and shrink opportunities and create / administer plans for improvement.
  • Use the exception based reporting system to identify dishonesty, profit erosion and shrink opportunities.
  • Conduct dishonest associate related investigations and interviews.
  • Partner with the Operations District Manager, Human Resource Talent Manager and Merchandising Specialists to help achieve company goals.
  • Communicate regularly with business partners to ensure understanding and compliance of Asset Protection matters.
  • Foster a culture of profitable selling through training and leadership.
  • Attend inventories, evaluate store results and initiate appropriate actions to reduce shrink and increase sales.
  • Manage external investigations (Vendor Fraud and Organized Retail Crime, Etc.).
  • Act as a liaison between Weis Markets and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Professionally represent Weis Markets in court hearings and mediations.
  • Analyze and evaluate people and situations and provide direction to impact performance.
  • Identify ongoing Asset Protection needs and provide recommended actions and resources.
  • Hire, train and mange ORC associates. Monitor program status and productivity.
  • Manage Federal and State regulatory standards. Direct stores on corrective actions to be taken.
  • Ensure all Asset Protection technology is operational and physical security guidelines are being executed in order to reduce and prevent inventory shrink.
  • Respond to 24 hour emergency scenarios and provide clear direction in order to support stores.
  • Enforce policies and procedures in a professional and impactful manner through consistent accountability practices.
  • Effectively manage time and scheduling to best suit the company’s needs.
  • Drive the company safety program in partnership with district and  store leadership.
  • Responsible for key P&L categories relating to Asset Protection and expense control.
  • Conduct detailed P&L reviews with the District Operations Manager and use financial data to achieve and measure results.
  • Orchestrate key public safety functions and physical security standards for all new store openings, remodels and special events.


This position would cover district stores in Allentown/Philadelphia area

Job Requirements:



  • A bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years multi-store Asset Protection supervisory experience.
  • Analytical ability to interpret statistical data.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Effective organizational, communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to direct and handle multiple tasks, prioritize and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Must have core computer competencies including an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and abilities.
  • Ability to work on sensitive assignments and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Wicklander / Zulawski certification.
