Job Description


Clean Harbors is hiring a Senior Accountant to handle all aspects of the General Ledger process in our fast paced, dynamic team environment.  Our extremely busy team of accountants are seeking a leader to guide them through various upcoming mergers and acquisitions.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the coordination of the monthly accounting closing, is a key contributor to the oversight of SOX compliance, and plays a critical role in the preparation and review of the financial statements. 


  • Leads the overall coordination of the external audit.
  • Reviews all general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Contributes to the corporate accounting requirements associated with aquistions and divestitures.
  • Works with management to develop, mentor, and support the accounting team.
  • Makes a monthly presentations to management, examples include.
    • Balanance Sheet Review
    • SOX Compliance Review
    • Other projects as assigned.
  • Key liason with the external reporting group in the preparation of the quarterly and annual filings.
  • The role is very hands on and will work closely with the entire team. The best candidate with be able to step in and perform any assigned tasks to support the departments requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • 3+ years of Public Accounting experience required
  • CPA license a plus
  • Hands on, team player with can do attitude
  • Proactively initiates process improvements
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
