Transmission Line Engineer – Boston Area – Immediate Need!
Our client, a leading Energy Engineering and Consulting Firm based in the Northeast, has hired our
Firm to locate them a dynamic, driven and detail oriented Transmission Line Engineer to join their growing team. They provide Engineering, Consulting Services and Project Management to Utility Companies, Government Agencies, Businesses and related Power industry entities in the areas of Transmission, Distribution, Generation, Transportation and Renewable Energy Services. The Transmission Line Engineer will be familiar the detailed Engineering Design and Project Management of Transmission, Sub-transmission and Distribution Line Projects. These Projects are to include entire new Facilities, as well as major Additions, Rehabilitations, Replacement, Clearance
& Lightning Improvements, and Reconductoring of existing Electric Power Lines. Plans and Designs involve Compliance with Environmental, Safety and Client Standards & Policies.

•Must be legally authorized to work in the US for a period exceeding 180 days
•Must possess a valid Driver’s License, or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire
Required Technical Skills:
•Knowledge of Engineering Economics, Surveying, Electrical Engineering, GIS, Environmental Regulations and Legal Regulations
•Expertise in AutoCad and/or Microstation and PLS Cadd Software
•Experience in Construction, Operations and Commissioning Practices
•Familiarity with AISC, ANSI, ASTM & ASCE Standards and National Electrical Safety Code
•Plans, Schedules, Conducts and/or Coordinates detailed phases of Engineering Assignments involving major Projects, requiring the evaluation and application of Standards
•Determines and Documents Project Estimate, Scope and Schedule; sets and evaluates Design options and criteria for Technical merit; conducts Field Visits, verifies and inspects Electrical Line Assets, Equipment Parameters and identifies applicable Codes and System Spec requirements
•Directs and guides a Team of Designer/Drafters in support of all assigned Projects; Assigns Project Tasks to Project Team Members so that Assignments are completed and within Budget
•Prepare Documentation and conduct Meetings to ensure Accounting Procedures are followed
•Prepares Engineering and Design Deliverables for Transmission Lines including Plan & Profiles, Structure Loading Analysis, Structure & Foundation Design, Conductor & Shield Wire Analysis, Material Selection & Construction Specifications
•Directs, Monitors and Reviews Designs; Interfaces with Client
•Works with Client and/or Contractor to develop Cut-over Procedures to minimize Outages and maximize Personnel Safety. Provide Engineering support to resolve Technical Issues
•Demonstrate Technical Expertise in Transmission Line Design and the ability to identify, propose and implement innovative ideas to add Value Engineering to the Projects
•Testify as an Expert Witness if required. Interact with Legal, Real Estate & Environmental Groups
•10 years+ experience in Transmission and Distribution Engineering and Power Systems
•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering, (MSEE and MBA desired)
•Professional Engineers (PE) License or EIT required.
Salary ~ 100k to 140k+ (Depending on Experience)
